Terrill Wheeler

Terrill Wheeler, age 63 of Clark, died at his home following a brief illness on Sunday, February 2, 2025 with family by his side.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 6, 2025 from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Furness Funeral Home of Clark with a memorial service on Friday, February 7, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at Bethlehem Lutheran Church of Raymond with Pastor Randy Bader officiating. Following burial at Prairie Valley Cemetery of Raymond, a lunch will be served at the Raymond Legion Hall. Terrill Lane Wheeler was born July 29, 1961 in Redfield, S.D. to parents Thomas and LaVonne (Schaefer) Wheeler. He joined his sister, Larae at home of the family farm north of Raymond, S.D., where he was raised and learned the value of hard work. He attended Raymond Elementary School until sixth grade when he began attending Clark School. He graduated from Clark High School in 1979 and was an outstanding multi-sport athlete excelling in baseball, football, basketball and track.

After graduation, he attended Norther State University in Aberdeen, S.D., playing football for one year. He then transferred to Sioux Empire Junior College in Hawarden, Iowa, playing baseball there for two years. Following that, he attended Pan University in Edinburg, Texas, also playing baseball. While here, he met the love of his life, Peggy Wilde.

Peggy and Terrill were married in 1983 in Donna, Texas. Their honeymoon consisted of a drive back to Raymond, S.D., where they would make their home and raise their children, Tyler, Tiffany and Thomas. Terrill thoroughly loved the farm, first farming alongside his dad, Tom and then with this sons. Terrill and Peggy moved into Clark in 2015. They enjoyed spending winters in Texas and Arizona for several years. He loved riding motorcycles and could be seen riding his white trike around town. He also enjoyed playing pinocle, chess, hunting, golfing and spending time with family and friends. Terrill was a longtime member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church of Raymond.

Grateful to have shared his life with his wife, Peggy of Clark; children Tyler (Lindsay) Wheeler of Monticello, Minn., Tiffany (Brad Berg) Wheeler of Clark and Thomas (Rebecca) Wheeler of Raymond; grandchildren Kayden, Tenley, Lakin, Peyton, Harper and Murphy; a sister, Larae (Rex) Taylor of Conde; two nieces; aunt Cleo Thelen and uncle Dallas (Lois) Wheeler; and several cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
